Project goals:

The DeveloPPP project aimed at the transfer of know-how and technology in the field of self-sufficient full power supply through PV systems for remote areas of the Philippines.

Contents:

The Philippines comprises 7107 islands in the western Pacific Ocean, of which around 880 islands are inhabited. Due to these structures, a nationwide energy supply is difficult to achieve. Added to this are the increasing population figures and thus also increasing energy requirements, environmental disasters as a result of climate change and large economic differences between rural areas and metropolitan areas. The Philippine government has also set itself ambitious environmental goals, which include a 100 percent supply of renewable energies. In this context, solar systems ensure an environmentally friendly, safe and flexible power supply, even in remote areas.

Together with DRECHSLERtechnik GmbH from Grimma and local cooperation partners, Bau Bildung Sachsen e. V. the establishment of island solar systems as part of a two-year project. For this purpose, a photovoltaic stand-alone system was installed as a pilot and training system at a local training partner in the island province of Cebu. The system is characterized by both an energy storage system and a requirement-based power control for the sustainable electrification of areas without a reliable central power supply.

Tasks of Bau Bildung Sachsen e.V.:

The building Education Saxony e. V. used its many years of international know-how in the field of training and further education to create, prepare and coordinate the training documents in the field of photovoltaic systems, as well as to establish long-term lecturer training at the partner college. Furthermore, we took on coordinative tasks in relation to project management during the course of the project.
