TinyFarmHouse - Efficient use of water for food production

In times of climate change and a more conscious lifestyle, food production is constantly facing new challenges. In China, too, people see more and more importance of an ecologically and economically viable lifestyle. For a growing number of consumers, it is becoming crucial where and under what conditions food is produced. In the heavily urbanized People's Republic in particular, the challenge lies in the optimal use of arable land to cover the food needs of the population.

Duration: 2020-2023

Project goal:

The aim of DEG's DeveloPPP project is the sustainable transfer of know-how and technology in the area of ​​efficient water use for food production.

Contents:

Together with the Brandenburg company TERRA URBANA as well as industrial and sales partners will be initiated and consolidated as part of the project.

TERRA URBANA is building a so-called TinyFarmHouse in cooperation with Bau Bildung Sachsen e.V. This will create a “living” showroom that offers a teaching platform for locally and sustainably produced food.

The implementation of the necessary know-how in the local curricula is carried out in close cooperation between TERRA URBANA and Bau Bildung Sachsen.  To ensure successful technology transfer, several teachers are being trained to become experts in order to act as multipliers on the Chinese market.

Widespread workshops and information events are intended to further increase awareness of the German company's approach among relevant target groups on site.

Tasks of Bau Bildung Sachsen e.V.:

The building Education Saxony e. V. takes over the creation, preparation and coordination of training documents and moderates the inclusion of the new content in the curriculum of the Chinese training partner. We carry out the trainer training on site and advise our Chinese colleagues on how to convey the new content in their own lessons. In addition, the construction of Bildungs ​​Sachsen e. V. Coordinative tasks in the area of ​​project management throughout the course of the project.
